Three countries, one epic #travellingart adventure!
As many of you know if you follow me on Instagram, I created the term ‘travelling art’, the idea of creating art that is then left in random places around the world for people to find on their travels. It basically involves me creating a piece of artwork (normally a painting), sealing it up, and leaving it in a random place with a little message!
I recently travelled through Hungary, Slovakia and Austria with a bag full of paintings ready to be left in random places…. the only thing is, I’m never very organised and always end up spreading my art all over a table in a cafe whilst trying to pack them all and write all the messages. In this case I packed a lot of them whilst sitting in the cafe in the Kunst Haus in Vienna… and I didn’t need any excuses to sit in there for hours. The place was beautiful ❤
Here’s a load of photos of random places my #travellingart got left in…
I chose some pretty places and some gritty places. Best way to describe the cosmic traveller lifestyle – pretty but gritty 😀
Szimpla Kert Ruin Bar is huge, full of nooks and crannies and hundreds of people, from locals to travellers. Perfect place to hide art, and the perfect place to hang out 🙂
This place really is something special; being from England I’ve never come across anything like this before! (Even though this idea would be perfect in somewhere like London, Bristol or Brighton!)
It has been my dream to visit the Hundertwasser house since I was a little girl, so when I was there I took the opportunity to spread my art around. Hundertwasser loved colour and abstract shapes in the same way that I do. Leonardo Da Vinci apparently said, “A life without love is no life at all”… well I believe that ‘a life without colour is no life at all‘.
There were loads more locations but I didn’t manage to get photos of all of them 😦
Pretty successful mission, methinks?
