STREET ART: Gregos

Gregos is a Parisian artist living in Montmartre, France. You’ll find his masks all around the world, though many have been stolen off the walls (!).STREET ART: Gregos - cosmictravellerblog.com

Gregos’s face sculptures (which are actually moulded from his own face) are whimsical and oddly entertaining every time you spot one. The masks are all over the world, in various designs, sizes and colours, some with extra adornments such as paste-up embellishments, and some just painted and stuck to the wall.

His masks are a self-portrait, depicting the everyday emotions of Gregos himself. This isn’t the only medium he works in; he is also skilled at acrylic and oil painting, and regularly incorporates the masks into his canvas work.

His most recent adventures involved him venturing from his native France to London, UK to install new some new faces with Stik, who contributed a piece with his famous stick figures to Unite’s Nelson House for the Bristol ‘See No Evil’ street art festival.

More than 1000 Gregos masks have been installed in most major cities around the globe.
